Multi Occurrence And Double Multi Occurrence Integration

Master Data Management (MDM) can be defined as a comprehensive method to link entire critical data of an organization to a common reference point. Proper implementation of MDM allows simple and efficient data sharing across individuals or departments while maintaining the data quality.

The objective of Multi Occurrence and Double Multi Occurrence is to describe the process of validating the data attributes entered by the user using custom tool named as ‘bulk load’ or ‘bulk edit’. After successfully logging into the Master Data Governance (MDG) tool, the user selects bulk load custom tool and imports the item data excel sheet into MDM environment from the local desktop.

Multi occurrence is a metadata type of attribute in MDM data model. If we want any attribute to appear multiple times for ERP record, we must declare that attribute as a multi-occurrence attribute.

For example, one source system may have one or more systems to be published. For this scenario, if we mention systems attribute metadata Max Occurrence as greater than one, it is called multi occurrence.

Double multi occurrence is a concept of declaring one attribute as multi-occurrence under multi occurrence attribute.

For example, consider purchasing data which has multiple attributes under it. If we consider partner functions attribute from purchasing data, we may have multiple partner functions for single purchasing data. So, we need to declare partner functions as multi-occurrence under purchasing data. If we look at this from a higher level, design partner function is a double multi-occurrence attribute as per the source system.

Once the user is logged in to the MDG tool, they can enter the multi-occurrence and double-multi occurrence data in the form.

The attributes data comprises of the following:

  • Source ERP Number
