Informatica – Cloud Integration Hub
Informatica Cloud Integration Hub (CIH) is a cloud-based application integration solution which can be used to share and sync data between different applications within the organization. This product is a part of IICS, but has a different license like Data Integration and Application Integration. CIH consists of user interface client, cloud connection and secure agent, its repository (on premise – either SQL or Oracle).
The objective of CIH is to share the same set of data with different applications by a more streamlined and simple approach. Let us consider a simple implementation by going through the below diagram. It shows that Salesforce is a source and various sets of data is flowing from salesforce to various sources. Same data is fetched again and again (depending on target applications) and then sent to target applications. For example, data of contacts is going to Oracle application, ServiceNow, Data warehouse and HR database.
Below is the diagram which represents the same integration by using CIH. It clearly shows how the process is streamlined. Same set of data is fetched once and sent to different applications. Also because of CIH which has a repository, we can keep track of the records which have been published/ integrated and which are faulted.
- CIH processor license should be available in Informatica Cloud.
- Private repository is to be created by selecting Oracle or SQL server
SQL SERVER: jdbc:informatica:sqlserver://<ip>:<port>;DatabaseName=<DatabaseName>;

FLOW OF INTEGRATION HUB FROM ONE APPLICATION TO ANOTHER APPLICATION
Components of Cloud Integration HUB
Topic: It defines the data structure, data retention period and other data definitions.
Application: It acts as a container for publications and subscriptions. Application publishes data to the topic and subscribes data from the topic.
Publication: It instructs the application on how to publish data to CIH like the type format and scheduler.
Subscription: It instructs the application on how to consume data and can be subscribed to multiple topics.
Monitoring: It can be used for triggering email when the publication or subscription shows error/ warning status or when is completed, just like what we have in B2B.
Hence, we can conclude that Cloud Integration HUB has the following advantages:
- Streamline to Process.
- Flow of data can be easily traced.
- Because of repository, records can be maintained and checked whenever needed.
- Removes the idea of pulling redundant data.
